160 Hours Of Plumbing And Pipe-fitting

For the first time ever, Barangay San Pablo, Tubod, Surigao del Norte, held Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) classes in the barangay for the 15 Convenio 07-Co1-031 vocational scholars. The all male class studied plumbing and pipe-fitting with a total duration of 160 hours, from May 16, 2011 to June 16, 2011. Convenio 07- Co1-031 is a project funded by AECID, facilitated by Fundacion Intered and implemented by PhilDHRRA-Mindanao in Caraga Region.

Coming Up Light At The Weigh In

Barangays San Isidro and Sangay of the municipality of Kitcharao and Barangay Budlingin, of the Municipality of Alegria, provided supplemental feeding to a total of 74 malnourished or underweight & severely underweight children plus eight underweight pregnant women. The supplementary feeding lasted for eight weeks, from June 2011 until August 2011, and consisted of 40 feeding sessions or five consecutive days per week. The feeding was accomplished in either the feeding center, health center or barangay hall.

To Enhance Legislative Skills Of Barangay Officials

PhilDHRRA conducted Parliamentary Procedure in Local Governance for Resolution & Ordinance Making training on August 9-112, 2011, in SB Session Hall of the Municipality of Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte. A total of 57 participants, from the six barangays covered by North Convenio namely: Barangays San Pablo & Motorpool of the Municipality of Tubod, Barangays Budlingin and Camp Edward of Alegria Municipality, SDN and Barangays Sangay & Isidro of Kitcharao Municipality of AND, attended the training.

Para-techs studied Diversified Integrated Farming Systems (DIFS)

A total of 78 para-technicians, 29 males and 49 females, from North Caraga Convenio, attended the Livestock and Poultry management training, held in the municipalities of Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte and Alegria and Tubod, in the province of Surigao del Norte. The participants were the para-technicians from the barangays of San Isidro, Sangay, Budlingin, Camp Edward, San Pablo and Motorpool.

Convenio 07-Co1-031 through PhilDHRRA, its NGO partner implementer, provided livelihood support to 90 beneficiaries in the barangays of San Isidro in Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, Budlingin, Camp Edward in Alegria, and San Pablo in Tubod, Surigao del Norte. A total of 64 beneficiaries have availed of production inputs and another 26 received cash support for revolving fund under the Productivity Systems Development (PSD) component. Of the beneficiaries, 85 of the 90 are women.
