Membership Development and Support

The main interest of PhilDHRRA as a network is to make its members as effective and efficient development institutions that create impact in their areas of operations. The effect of the members in the communities that they serve is the key to the realization of PhilDHRRA’s vision. It is therefore necessary to expand membership so that more areas are served; and more importantly, to assist the members in improving their institutional capability in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating their projects and programs.

Objective: Expand the reach of the Network and assist the member NGOs in enhancing the capabilities in the implementation of Sustainable Integrated Area Development based projects.

Strategies:

  1. Expand the reach of PhilDHRRA by recruiting new members especially in areas where it has no presence yet.
  2. Provide technical assistance to member NGOs in responding to the needs of their communities which may include: 1) link to resources such as information, tools, technology, funds etc; 2) designing, developing, and packaging project proposals; 3) improving project implementation through performance monitoring and evaluation; 4) provide support system for resource mobilization and sustainability.
  3. Adherence to the Code of Ethics

Research, Documentation, Information System

PhilDHRRA’s effort related to policy advocacy, model innovation and knowledge building centers on its capacity for research and documentation. PhilDHRRA must be able to develop its capacity in research especially in abstracting and theorizing that leads to knowledge products. It must be able to develop systems for fast and cost efficient dissemination of info and ways for members to access and exchange information.

Objective: Generate learning experiences from the ground implementation of NGO members and be able to utilize them in improving the approaches in development work, management of programs and projects, as well as in policy advocacy.

Strategies

  1. Improve the capacity of the secretariat to document the learning experiences of member NGOs; and translate them into knowledge products and understandable framework/ models in conducting successful rural development initiatives.
  2. Take advantage of the new information technology, while making use of the traditional ones, to disseminate, store, and exchange info.
