PhilDHRRA Mindanao Sponsors 3rd Batch of Training on Microsoft Office AccessNine (9) participants from 7 NGO/POs attended the Five-day training on Microsoft Office Access sponsored by PhilDHRRA-Mindanao Secretariat. The training is the third of its kind organized and hosted by PhilDHRRA-Mindanao for its members and external partner-organizations and agencies. It is part the network’s ICT capacity building program under the ICT for NGOs component, a prelude to the 2nd phase of the program focused on integrating ICTs for rural development initiatives. Northern Mindanao Cluster Active Involvement in Anti-mining ForumFive members namely, HSPFI, GROUP, KAANIB, MASSPECC and TOUCH of the Northern Mindanao Cluster of PhilDHRRA Mindanao participated in the recently conducted advocacy forum on anti-mining held at Searsolin on October 23-24, 2008. Technological progress and development have broken the advent of a materialistic world. Many people in the urban and rural settings are explicitly and implicitly influenced by the global commercialization. In many instances the influx of westernized culture covers the innate and distinctive attitudes of who we really are every now and then.
Barangay Dughan Profile formulation is a rigorous and an effort-sweating endeavour. The fruitful results of the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), the Focus Group Discussions on Gender Gap Study outcomes, the Secondary Data from the Barangay and Municipal Records and My series of social interactions, immersions and consultations for the past six (6) months into the community inspired the PhilDHRRA–Convenio Project to consolidate the eventful Profile with the assistance of local leaders in the community. The birth of the Profile has come into existence.
