The Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro, led by Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, convened the Bishops-Legislators Forum on Environment Concerns on February 12, 2009 to tackle issues affecting the environment. Five members NGOs from the Northern Mindanao Cluster of PhilDHRRA Mindanao participated in the said forum along with other environmental partners from the executive and legislative branch of government, NGO’s and Church leaders.  (more…)

The member NGOs of PhilDHRRA Mindanao in its partnership with the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro showed its active engagement with the church by hosting eight Galilean Seminarians of the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary  in their urban and rural exposures from the period January 8-14 (Urban) and January 22 to February 2, 2009. PhilDHRRA Mindanao has initially implemented its newly approved project in October 2008 in partnership with InteRed, entitled “ Integral and Sustainable Development of Rural Communities in Caraga, with special focus on women, through the articulation and strengthening of the productive and social structures, through community participation”. As part of its ICT Capacity Building program for member NGOs, the secretariat donated two sets of used computers from its Northern Mindanao office to the Mainland Development Center (MDC) last November 12, 2008. Mr. Bebot Crucio, acting Executive Director of MDC formally received the hardware from RC Abando in a simple turnover ceremonies witnessed by members of the local secretariat and MDC staff. (more…)

PhilDHRRA Mindanao convened its 3rd Regional Board of Trustees Meeting last November 3, 2008 at MASSPECC Hostel in Carayan de Ore City.  Presided by Chairperson Nestor Carbonera, the meeting was marked with the guest presence of Mr. Paul Baang, Project Caraga Manager; MASS-SPECC CEO Sylvia Paraguya, and Ms. Mayen Olmedo,  PEF Program Manager of the ZamBaSulTa area, who sought audience with the board for their independent concerns with the PhilDHRRA leadership.
