2007 Accomplishment Highlights

JSF completed its two year project with Agencia Española de Cooperacion Internacional this year.  The project, “Upscaling Barangay and Marketing Development” was able to complete the formulation of Medium Term Barangay Development Plans for the thirty one barangays in Calinan and Marilog Districts. The project was also able to help different development projects of eight barangays within the two districts of Davao City.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

Among the projects that MDFI implemented in 2007 were the following:

Barangay Justice Service System (BJSS)

In 2007, MDFI facilitated the conduct of training, workshop, and conference activities in the beneficiary barangays and municipalities.  Among these were the following:

BJSS-Enhanced Dalan sa Kalinaw Mindanaw (EDKM) Training – a general education and training on Barangay Justice System whose purpose was to deepen the understanding and enhance the level of awareness and skills of the Katarungan Pambarangay (KP) members and the Barangay Justice Advocates (BJAs) in the different aspects of Barangay justice delivery.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

At the November 2007 Regional Assembly of PhilDHRRA Mindanao, Mahintana was awarded as one of the commendable members of PhilDHRRA network in due recognition of its efforts with respect to the network’s development thrust in Mindanao. The year 2007 was a challenging year for Mahintana as it continued its programs and services in partnership with various stakeholders and local communities in the SOCSARGEN area.

In January 2007, the MDC Executive Director organized a staff meeting and reflection session to discuss and share updates on the status of MDC as an institution serving the urban and rural poor in Davao del Sur.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

The year 2007 was highlighted by two major initiatives: Stabilization Fund and the Megalink connectivity of the Pinoy Coop ATM. The 2007 General Assembly with its theme “ Pooling Cooperative Resources: Expanding services and Reach for Mindanao Peace and Development”, approved the conversion of the Cooperative Guarantee Fund into the Coop Stabilization Fund. The stabilization fund will ensure that the federation will have the capacity to provide technical and financial assistance to cooperatives facing major difficulties. Today the fund stands at 4.6 M and is expected to reach at 22.6M in 2011.
