2007 Accomplishment Highlights

In the year 2007, AGB doubled its size from five branches serving microfinance to poor families in Cagayan de Oro, Butuan City, Nasipit Agusan del Norte, Malitbog and Manolo in Bukidnon, to nine branches.

It has even taken an ambitious leap by expanding its operations in Quezon City and Caloocan. Other expansion areas are Gingoog City, Cagayan de Oro City and in Maramag, Bukidnon. The foundation has also set its sights on expansion into two more areas in Lanao and Bukidnon.

From twenty-six  paid staff in 2006, the current workforce is now forty-six.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

Community-Based Coastal Resource Management Project in Melgar Bay

The project aimed to protect, conserve and rehabilitate the coastal resources of Melgar Bay. The outputs of the project included: organized and strengthened POs, BFARMCs, and BLGUs of Barangays Geotina, Sta. Monica & New Nazareth of Basilisa, Surigao del Norte; the formulation of the Community-Based Coastal Resource Management Plan in the three barangay beneficiaries and the establishment of a 15 hectare community-based marine sanctuary; the reforestation of 6 hectares of mangrove and; livelihood support to barangay-beneficiaries.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

Sustainable Agriculture

In partnership with the DILG, CESCOD facilitated the preparation and budgeting of the Gender and Development (GAD) plan at the barangay level. Part of the GAD initiative was to expand the membership of the Local Women Council to include other groups and organizations in the city and affiliated the LCW with the Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women.

2007 Accomplishment Highlights

In 2007 GROUP assumed the administration of beneficiaries of the Lihok Katawhan Foundation, Inc, a joint venture housing project, after the dissolution of the foundation. The facilitation of organizing activities has been conducted for the reorganization of their community association in order to sustain the activities of its members. However, collection of monthly lot amortization was still very slow for other NGO members.

Hagdan Sa Pag-Uswag Foundation, Inc. (HSPFI)


2007 Accomplishment Highlights

The year 2007 was a bright year for Hagdan sa Pag-uswag Foundation, Inc. (HSPFI).  Its microfinance program was strengthened, and so was its Community Development Program.

HSPFI’s micro-insurance program was tied up with the UCPB Gen and Cooplife and this has made it more competitive. The organization has been able to provide insurance to its clients at a minimal annual premium.
