2007 Accomplishment Highlights

In 2007, LEAF implemented projects with thematic areas on watershed management, wetlands management, and ARC and IP communities area management, with gender as a cross-cutting theme.  The said projects had a combination of the following components: forest reserve reforestation, agroforestry in buffer zone areas, agricultural and livestock technology, health and education.  Projects were implemented in partnership with communities, local organizations and local government units, line agencies and the academe and other research institutions.  Donor partners included CI-CEPF, AusAID-PACAP, DAR-InfRES, DAR/IFAD-NMCIREMP, DAR/JBIC-MinSSAD, PTFCF, IIRR/ACIAR-CATP, PhilDHRA/InteRed; and Association of Foundations and Lutheran World Relief for LEAF’s institutional capacity building, among others.

The organization reviewed its milestones, reassessed current realities and committed to align and reinforce the organization’s direction in the context of sustainable and integrated area development while reinforcing its niche in natural resource management.

In November 2007, LEAF also received the Award of Distinction for achieving the Commendable Member status for the year 2006 from PhilDHRRA.
