Kaanib Foundation, Incorporated2007 Accomplishment Highlights Through 2007 Kaanib Foundation, Inc. continued its program implementation in two municipalities of Bukidnon. Mainstreaming Institutionalization Development of AGMIHICU Ancestral Domain Program The project facilitated the organizing of seven self-help groups with livelihood support. A total of twelve activities and livelihood project proposals were approved and implemented. Infrastructure development was also undertaken with the help of the LGU. Livelihood enterprises were developed, such as food processing undertaken by women, rattan furniture making, wood craft and manual corn mill. Kalabugao-HAGPA Barangay Institutions Bigulan Development Program (KABIGULAN) This program operated in two communities in the municipality of Impasug-ong. A total of six self-help groups were organized with livelihood activities. Two community institutions were also organized to undertake and facilitate the five infrastructure projects implemented in the communities. These included: kalabugao box culvert, tulugan center, hagpa water system, kaanibungan farm to market road and bailey bridge. Kahumayan daw Maisan Enhancement Program Plus The program facilitated the organization of three Peoples Organizations. It also facilitated the establishment of two solar driers and two ferrocement tanks. Seven water systems were also established to help in the maintenance of crops. The program also initiated the marketing of agri products such as abacca, coffee, vegetables, rice and corn. Farmer beneficiaries were trained in the Korean Farming technologies system (NFTS), food always in the home (FAITH) bio-dynamic, and MASIPAG technology. Livelihood Enterprise Generation in Impasug-ong (LEGONG) The project implemented a livelihood enterprise focused on vegetable production. A small irrigation system was established to supply water needed in the production. A packing shed was also constructed for sorting and packing of vegetables. A total of 46 farmers planted vegetables in staggered basis. Vegetables harvested were marketed in Malaybalay city and Cagayan de Oro City. |
