2007 Accomplishment Highlights

In 2007 GROUP assumed the administration of beneficiaries of the Lihok Katawhan Foundation, Inc, a joint venture housing project, after the dissolution of the foundation. The facilitation of organizing activities has been conducted for the reorganization of their community association in order to sustain the activities of its members. However, collection of monthly lot amortization was still very slow for other NGO members.

Given the budget constraints and limited access to project funding, GROUP discontinued its engagements with the Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and  Resource  Management project.

In December 2007, the INFRES-DBP JFR project on goat raising for meat and milk production was finished. This project in Naawan, Misamis Oriental benefited 270 beneficiaries, and its end saw GROUP has reduce its workforce to three core staff. The Executive Director is now also facilitating the Bantay-Banay program, urban poor organizing for shelter and administrative matters. With limited funding, the three core staff have multiple roles, handling the shelter program, joint venture projects, Bantay Banay and other networking linkages. All these undertakings are supported by the Executive Director down to the filed level.
