The Institute of Primary Health Care (IPHC) recently concluded its 30th Anniversary celebration last June 16, 2008 at Davao Medical School Foundation compound. The 3-day affair was interfaced with activities such as People’s Organization Forum on Alternative Medicine by Dr. Jaime Galvez-Tan, Good Governance Forum by former Malalag Mayor Givel Montejo-Mamaril and a Market Encounter of organically produced farmers’ products from different IPHC communities. Culminating the affair was the launching of the Synapse 2, a compendium of IPHCs best practice documentation for the past 30 years.

PhilDHRRA RC Rolando Abando graced the affair by rendering a commendation speech to IPHC’s distinctive achievements in the various dimension of the development field and its notable advancement of the network’s call for SIAD promotions and advocacy in many parts of Mindanao .

The celebration was further laced by the recognition of best LGUs and PO partners of IPHC for their consistency and sustainability of efforts in advancing the teachings of the institute. Interestingly, many of the LGUs and POs awardees come from IPHC communities who figured prominently in advancing the SIAD framework. Equally recognized during the celebration were IPHC’s highly competent, committed and passionate development workers who stood by the ideals of the institute and who remained steadfast with the organizations’ original vision and mission to guide their conduct of development work.
